"And they shall be called the Holy People, the Redeemed of the LORD; and you shall be called Sought Out, A City Not Forsaken" - Isaiah 62:12 ESV
With the mandate to dwell in our cities as God's unforsaken city with a life-giving message for all those in the cities of today, it is necessary that we seek to understand both our cities and our task well. The nexus of Christian mission in the urban context is the essence of urban missiology. Any honest effort to understand cities is a multi-disciplinary project.
In light of these realities, scholars and practitioners have gathered to share research on cities. In particular, this research focuses on Asian Cities. 'The City Not Forsaken' is the collection of papers from the second consultation on "Urban Mission and Urban Transformation" held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2019. Top scholars from a variety of disciplines have contributed thought-provoking chapters which will not only challenge the perspective of the reader but advance missiology as an academic discipline.
